Our School

PCHS is a grade 9-12 school in the town of Punnichy, Saskatchewan. We are located approximately 120 kilometers northeast of Regina, Saskatchewan, in the scenic Touchwood Hills region. We are located near three First Nations communities whose youth comprise a majority of our student body.

We offer a variety of classes and operate on the block system. As a community school, we are equipped to serve students with a variety of programs.

Our students come to us from three surrounding reserves: Daystar First Nation, George Gordon First Nation, and Muskowekwan First Nation.  We work with representatives from these First Nations to ensure that our students are being served to the best of our ability.
In order to better serve our students and to improve learning outcomes, we've undertaken the Punnichy Career Transition Initiative. The CTI is a long-range plan that provides students with training in the trades and gives them the opportunity to learn skills that will boost their employability in the future. Participants in the program earn high school credits, trade certification tickets, and SIAST credits while still in high school.  Inaugurated in the 2008-2009 school year, the project has already seen students successfully move from high school to the workplace, giving them an advantage when they go out looking for jobs or on to technical training.
